Feather Free Fashion
During New York Fashion Week, Friends of Animals took its Feather Free Fashion campaign onto the streets of Manhattan, with a series of billboards challenging fashion’s continued use of feathers.
The campaign builds on a simple position: what’s true for fur is true for feathers. Wild birds belong in the wild, not farmed, plucked or killed to provide decoration for fashion.
Its manifesto calls on people to stop wearing real feathers, support designers and retailers moving away from them, and help spread the feather-free message.
Fevvers featured in the campaign as part of a different creative future – including in Friends of Animals’ Action Line magazine – showing that moving beyond feathers doesn’t mean moving away from beauty, movement or spectacle.

For us, that’s an important part of the conversation. Challenging what fashion has always done matters. Creating something new matters too.
